16 June 2017 - Just before 1am on 14 June, a fire in a fourth-floor flat quickly encompassed the entire 24-storey Grenfell Tower. 223 people escaped. Officially 72 people died. It is unknown how many were in the tower at the time. Within hours, hundreds of volunteers descended on the area to help the survivors and emergency personnel in any way they could, whether with food, clothing, household items or simply support.
17 Oct 2017 - In opposition to the various grooming gang scandals and to radical Islamism in general, 70,000 football supporters - making up the Football Lads Alliance (FLA) - gathered in London. Marching from Hyde Park, through Central London, down Whitehall and onto Westminster Bridge, they laid wreaths from nearly every major football club in the country at the site of the March 2017 Westminster Bridge Attack.
23 March 2017 - At about 2:40pm on 22 March, a terrorist drove his car into pedestrians on the southside of Westminster Bridge and over to crash into the Houses of Parliament’s iron fence, injuring over 50 and killing 4. He entered on foot into New Palace Yard but was waylaid by the unarmed PC Keith Palmer who the terrorist stabbed to death before being fatally shot by armed police.
9 April 2016 - After the 5 April revelation that the then Prime Minister David Cameron held an overseas account for tax avoidance, highlighted by the 2015 anonymous leak of 11.5 million financial documents dubbed the ‘Panama Papers’, protestors gathered outside 10 Downing St to call for his resignation.
